I haven't made the model, but there may be some inspiration here if you weren't already aware of it: http://www.defenceimagedatabase.mod.uk/fotoweb/

(I forgot about it until I posted it in General Topics earlier)

The problem I have is getting a realistic colour on the hull.I want to make the model appear like a boat that has been in the water a while. The tiles seem to go a charcoal grey after a good immersion. If I cannot get a good match I may go for the Torbay blue look. Also what colour is the revolving bit at the back? WEM are going to release an Astute soon.I have got excellent coverage of that boat!!!

As you say, they go a grey colour but that's usually only the tiles themselves. If the hull is directly painted, or mastic is used to fair in tiles or sonar apertures, then it tends to stay black. The pic below shows good examples of both.

I'm afraid I couldn't tell you what colour the propulsor rotor is - it's not my part of ship and they're usually covered in dry-dock.

The other colour you need is rust where a tile is missing - the pics of Spartan in Brazil are a good example of that!
