Actually 2 really:
It seems the more or less accepted method/procedure is to take 2 range readings...lowering the periscope between the 2 range readings.
Fine...no problem...but what about the TBT? Can't lower that...:shifty:..and ranges are vital pieces of data when using this device too...
...and...just what is the purpose of lowering the periscope between readings? I've read about this mandated action in several threads and tutorials but there has never been an explaination (at least I have not run across one) as to why this step is necessary. I understand the usefulness of doing so in avoiding detection but the authors of these pieces seem to feel it is a vital step in obtaining accurate ranges. (and I'm not trying to argue that it isn't.. please don't misunderstand)
