View Full Version : Max Payne The movie
Anyone else waiting for this? Just saw the trailer for it, cant say I'm happy of the guy they chose to play Max Payne, but I think it'll be a great movie still. A grimm storyline for sure, I'm personally hoping that they wont take anything out of the atmosphere that was in the games; drugs, brutal violence, the snow etc.
Here's the trailer:

 The games are fantastic, but ... Mark Wahlberg?

Aye. :-?
With some english/acting lessons we could've gotten the 'Real' Max payne. Cant remember his name, but IIRC he was/is part of the Max Payne games dev team. The Max on the first game was modelled after him, he looks exactly like Max in the game.
One I would've liked to see as Max Payne is Michael Madsen. He can act a cruel, cold blooded guy on a revenge trip if any. I mean, he doesnt usually show any kind of emotion and IMHO, Max Payne is like Hitman, no emotions, just revenge. And I think he's voice would fit the theme very well, and lastly he writes poems too, so he knows how to make a written word sound powerful. :hmm:
Just look at this video of MM reading a poem he wrote, try to exclude the music and dont look at the video, just listen to him speak. Almost identical to Max Payne:

EDIT2: oh, here's the shot of the guy I was talking of that was the 'model' for Max Payne; Sam Lake:

Dont say it yet, trailers are misleading. Let's start judging AFTER we've seen the movie, ok? ;)

I adore Max Payne!:arrgh!:
Let's just hope the 600+ body count makes it into the movie!
And not directed by Uwe Boll! His movies doesn't make the cut the bill!:nope:
Hehe, Uwe Boll is in Guantanomo Bay now. He should be, anyway, the lousy terrorist.

He looks nothing like Payne!
And I assume the storyline got "tweaked"?:nope:
I liked the seedy, gritty, punk-noir style of the first game. It was so thickly laid-on
that it gave it a edge of humor.
If they had really played on that for the film I would be more interested.

It's pretty reliable and I know the release dates of films in my country before my friends do because of this site!
Back to topic, I have a feeling this film is going to be a let-down.:shifty:
