Not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering if there are any online resources for finding actual German recognition manuals (used by the Germans) from WWII. I just put together an ONI manual for the IJN warships and am currently working on a hardcopy of The Fleet Class Submarine.

Would be great to make a facsimile of the ship ID book (s) used on a U-boat but History on CD-Rom seems to just have Allied stuff.

Looks like you did a great job!

I've seen a couple of period photos of officers consulting the manual, and it's big - several ships to a page; but nothing real that we could look at.

FYI, The Fleet Submarine is available as a PDF file from several different sources, and is available online at the HNSA website...

I believe that most of the ONI recognition books have been done as well.
