Possible to use SH3 planes in SH4?

Being new to SH4 - about 3 weeks, ordered the 1.5 expansion today - I see it comes with Avro Lancasters as US search plane, must be some kind of reverse land-lease... :huh:

SH3 got Catalina's and Liberator bombers - is it possible to use these in SH4, and if, how?

Or is it maybe a lot better to get into downloading a couple mods where this has been changed already?

Not sure if you can use the models.
Mod wise, I couldn't imagine playing without TMO and RSRD.

If you are gonna install mods, I'd wait until 1.5 as thats theversion both the mods currently support although you can find 1.4 versions of both.

SH3's aircraft models are about as ugly as they can get. No thanks, I don't want them.

Thanks for the advice, Lynx, that's what I am going to do - the expansion should be here within a day or two, makes no sense to install any mod right now.

RSRD is on my list, I just have to suss out what TMO is and what's compatible to it and to RSRD - still have to do a lot of reading here.

Luke you're on the spot, the SH3 planes are everything but beauties - but SH4's (stock) aren't any better IMO. Given this, I'd rather have an ugly Catalina flying around in the Pacific instead of an ugly Lancaster - if possible of course.
