It just occurred to me, after almost 2 years of membership on SubSim, that there is a chat on the site.

I checked, and nobody was there.

Is that thing ever used by any SubSim members? It looks ancient in it's design, as if noone has cared about updating it.

It would be a lot more efficent than posting in threads to reply to someone personally. Much less bother than PM's as well. Perhaps we could arrange a standard time for regular members to chat?

Conversation dies quickly with out a task to be discussed, emotional involvement or members of the opposite sex.

Chat Rooms are for little old ladies who trade recipes or for people who want to "hook up". Who wants to chat with a bunch of dudes? Forums work because you can radio in and radio out, slick and easy, and find what topic you are interested in.
