You've got to be kidding me? Don't break the law, and the dogs won't have to come around anyway. Have these people thought about that? Cops usually don't waste there time if nothings wrong!

This does seem to be a bit inappropriate. There has to be situations where the laws of the land transcend cultural concerns.

I think this is a bit of a 'storm in a teacup' if you ask me. So the police dog wears little pairs of shoes. Is that going to bring down society and the state?
I think not.
Infact might be a good idea for all searches by police dog, who knows what could be lying around some of the buildings dogs have to search. Could prevent the dog injuring itself on spent needles or glass. I believe in some areas dogs wear special Kevlar stab/bullet proof vests because they have been targetted by criminals.
If dog searches had been called off because the house was a muslim one then I would accept that that was a poor decision.
Muslims think dogs are dirty animals so I hardly think a nice pair of boots is going to change there mind. If I came up against that BS I that is to say, if I was the policeman in charge of the dog I would make sure the dog had a good crap and whiz in there home.

What BS. The article that is. Police dogs have been wearing booties for ages now to protect their feet against god knows what, so whether they search a muslim house or no muslim location chances are they'll be wearing booties.
It sounds once again that it is white brainless idiots who are making up these rules without even consulting muslims and then it is made out as if muslims are demanding it...
If they have a dog search my home I do hope they have the decency to give the beast a doggy mint.. I am offended by "dog breath" ! :yep:
Dogs with boots on!
This is an OUTRAGE!
BAN THIS SICK FILTH!
What next?
Will they force policemen to wear shoes to? :stare:

When does the U.K. plan to change it's name because an element believes that's UNCLEAN ? :hmm:

Please quit the overreacting.
It isn't muslims who are demanding this it is the ACOP who have drafted the rules through some misguided idea they'll offend people.
I bet they haven't asked a single muslim about this.
All these PC things haven't been brought about by the minorities that the PC group think might get offended but my white middle class goody two shoes. Result the minorities have suddenly though "hey this is great!!!"
Think about it for a minute. You are member of a minority group and there is some organisation that is bending over backwards for your perceived needs and as a result people are going to make way for you...would you stop them? Hell no...
I bet they haven't asked a single muslim about this.
Well, even if they haven't it's still a issue. Dogs are unclean to Muslims in the same
way pork is to jews. It would be a bit like searching a synagouge with a trained pork roast. :rotfl:
The over reaction isn't justified tho as police dogs wear shoes for a variety of reasons;
adding one more is no biggie if it keeps everyone happy. The police have a bad enough
job trying to keep good PR as it is.

You know the more I look at this story the more suspicous it looks.
Remember the phoney story about the poor dad arrested by the 'PC mad' police for accidently giving his son an alcopop instead of lemonade, only it was nothing to do with the UK at all?
Well keep that in mind and then consider this:
Ref:80/08 July 7, 2008
ACPO statement on use of police dogs
Peter Vaughan, Deputy Chief Constable of South Wales police and ACPO lead on police dogs said:
“Contrary to media reports, ACPO guidelines currently being drawn up on the use of police dogs do not require or request police forces to use boots when police dogs are being used within Muslim buildings. There is in fact neither any reference to the use of boots in the draft guidelines, nor to any specific faith or community.
“Instead, the draft guidelines outline a general principle that police forces should consider what steps can be taken to avoid offending people during operations. This might include different categories of people such as those with a fear of dogs, for example, or asthma sufferers who may be sensitive to dog hair.
“However while the police will take cultural sensitivities into account, in all operations effective policing will take primacy.
“The guidelines are expected to be completed by the end of the year.”

The entire story is hogwash!
Now why would someone want to spin this very minor story into yet another 'PC madness' story? :hmm:
Of course if muslims could actually stay this side of civilised behaviour they wouldn't find sniffer dogs in their homes.

Hmmm, could it be that certain sections of the UK media (well the conservative bits.....Daily Mail anyone?) are going hell bent to print spurious, often half true or even practically fabricated stories of how bad the world/society/the country is now, how 'PC Madness' is running rampant, how immigrants are taking all the jobs and get given everything free on the taxpayer etc etc blah blah blah.........all to induce a degree of fear in society therefore making people more receptive to a right-wing political agenda? :hmm:

I find police culturally unacceptable. I think they should be sensitive to my needs and not come in my house. I don't want them near my car either.
