I think many shops has still got some stocks left...
When I go to a PC shop a few weeks ago, they still got old softwares like Windows ME, or legacy stuff like Premium 4 lol :D
OEM stuff, especially those for netbooks or subnotebooks, are still available

Hopefully now that Bill Gates is out they will start making some better decisions.
They are doing nothing but giving market share to Linux by closing up XP retail sales. Vista is THE windows ME of the decade.
I have XP3 running and its running fine. Until they come up with something along the lines of the difference between 3.1 and 95 they need to stop playing these games.

Other than Subman, who I know is an IT guy that has used Vista, how many of you guys have actually used the product?
Subman is an IT guy!!??
I is a IT too..
The biggest problem with Vista is that if you have a "technology deficient" client pool... man is it a pain to support.. Seriously.. I have come across about a dozen users that can not even shut their PC down at the end of the day...
It is not really a fault of Vista.. but none the less it is a pain in the nether regions.

I used vista for about a day. Even gave it the benefit of the doubt by disabling crap, Installing some programs I use. A few games.
It was crap.

Here in Columbia, MO we have a shop that will provide you with key codes to various MS products. They will also burn you a disc for free in case you loose it since it's the key code you are paying for.
You can also go to 9software.com and purchase a cd and key code for pennies on the dollar. When my church wanted to upgrade to a W00 Server I pointed them there and they were able to get the cd and code for $95. That's the kicker...only cd and code, no instructions or box. I know they are busy with XP orders.

I have it on my laptop, But I'm sticking with XP on my desktop until they fix it (or else release the next one, which will actually work, hopefully)

Its like the way Vista was created was to add an extra 3 steps to every normal function that took one before. Its crazy.
2 things are good about vista over XP - It can format a flash drive and make it active for booting, and the Windows key + R brings up the run menu fast! Everything else is well.....

I can bring up the Run menu with the Windows Key + R in XP too, I do it like, 500 times a day
As for Flash Drives, I don't use them at the moment, but I'd still skip Vista with how badly it does everything else...

The other two that should work on both platforms - Windows key + E (I use that constantly) and Windows key + Pause

I think they added some as time went on. A lot of these didn't use to work.

Personally, I still like Vista. If you actually give it a chance and get it set up the way that you want, it is a very nice OS. All of this "ME II" junk that people keep saying is a misnomer. ME was derided (and correctly so) for being full of bugs. Since I've had Vista on my machine for over a year now, I've found it to be an incredibly stable platform.
