I was recently going through some of my late grandfathers things who served on the USS Bluegill from Nov of 43 through sometime after the war(officially discharged in 46) I've found things that appear to me too be reports of some kind or at least copies of, as well as some personal effects and a diary.
My questions is....can anyone verify what I have is authentic??? I plan on going through the rest of it today, and making some scans in which ill post later tonight or tommorow.
Edit: Anyone have an idea how to authenticate???

Would love to have a look over them also
I like a fool have 2 photos of my dad in new york and also i think he's in norfolk virginia and i've put them up that safe i can't find them
Also found out all my dads pictures were accidently left in attic when my mother moved and new owners binned them :( Hundreds of wwii photos from allover the world :(
My eldest sister thinks she might have some of his war ones so she's going to check but i am gutted really
He was in the royal navy during wwii and i treasured the 2 he picked out for when i was a curious 15yr old
Anyways, If you can send em up so we can see some history :)

I'm in the process of moving right now so it may be a month or so before I get to scan and post it all. Will PM you both when I have it completed.

That would be nice Lynx
Hope the move goes smooth for you
The Submarine Force Museum Library here in Groton Connecticut keeps what they call a "scrap book" on every boat. It contains newspaper articles, letters, official documents as well as all patrol reports. It is available to researchers, in person, by appointment. I am sure they would appreciate the contribution of copies of your material to add to the Bluegills book. The librarian, Wendy, would probably make the authentication. Also If you like the next time I go down there I could look for any additional reference to your grandfather. Feel free to PM me.
