Hi!
welcome aboard Subsim, matey :ping:
Dont worry, your english is just fine  the model too, good job for a firt attempt. I havent done Uboat models myself but I can guarantee that my very first Aircraft model looked well...eh...:hmm: never saw a spitfire with puke brown / Green painted camo colour in any reference book but...but hey! you have to start somehwere ;)
my craftman ship has improved by then, but many models gone to waste due accidents happen to them, so took a break and now I'm getting back into it.
my latest work finished if you're interested:

Wow, nice Stuka HunterICX. I can see many details. You had a lot of work isn't it?
Right now Im working with another U-boat modell. This time it is a 1:72 scale type
VIIC/41. When it will be done i will give photos of this giant :)
Welcome to Subsim Lucass 1613. It looks ok.
Only thing i dont like / not a criticism- more personal preference :yep: / is the absence of the swastika on the battle flag.

Yes that's right. I think it was my fault that i used that flag from revell. My 1/72 scale type VIIC/41 will definitely have a self-made battle flag with a swastika.
Weird- im sure the kit i had the look at in the shop few months ago had the swastika on the flag. Can it be it differs from country to the other?
I know Germany are prety strict in this matter.
Where did You get Your kit?

Yes you're right. In Germany usually they don't have swastikas on flags. I bought
my kit in London and i was suprised about absence of the swastika on the battle flag.
Any way this time i need to make one by myself ;). Thans for Your opinion about my u-boat.
A little edit: I will use this flag, it is just ready to print ;)

Wink Is Your man.
He knows thing or two about U-boats, and designed some good replacement flags for various scale models. Check `em out:

While there dont forget to have glance at the now finished U-557. ;)

Thanks,
the model took me a year, but its because in summer I dont work on scale models due the high temperatures.

Wow one year... A lot of time. Maybe some day you will make a u-boat? That would be great!
I like very much your model, and the only thing I would have personally done a bit different -though it's a matter of taste- is put a darker shade of grey in the underwater part of the hull

Yes, Hitman. You have right. My next u-boat will definitely have darker shade of grey in the underwater part of the hull.

Great models mate, some fantastic looking weathering on the hull. Is it just me or does anyone else think that the first pic makes the model look huge? It kinda looks like its actually on a mat on the ground taking up most of the lawn, rather than on a small table.
The weathering is well done.
btw this looks more like the revell 1:72 and not 1:44 or am I missing something here.
The 1/144 is scaled down 1/72 model. Down to little detail.
Ah so it's the 1:144.
It still looks pretty detailed almost like the 1:72
Looks like the typo in the topic title. Should be 1/144.
In the 1/44 scale that boat would be 152 cm long.

Damn :damn: Indeed its a 1:144. Stupid mistake in the title. :hmm: I must change that somehow. Can i have a request to admin to change 1:44 to 1:144 in the title?

As you are the thread creator, you are able to do it yourself.
just ''double-click'' just on the right of the Title, this will give you the same thing like when you rename a file on your computer.
try it

Wow, I'm really impressed by the quality of this kit. It is very detailed and all of the parts fit nicely.
It is basically scaled down 1/72 kit, for people with small houses.:rotfl:

I'll get around to it. I've been job interviewing, so I have my hands full.
Pics please.
This is my next project (and first non-aircraft project) so please keep posting, especially pictures and details of what parts you are using from where.

You'll really enjoy it, it is a really good kit. I'm not buying any extra parts for it, but I did change the way I "weather" my ships and some detailing. I've got a lot of personal stuff going on, so I'll take pictures when I'm finished.
