GWX2.1, Jan 2nd 1945, 01:00. North Atlantic. Wind Gentle, Weather Clear.

My XXI is fully loaded with 6 GNATs. Here I am approaching a Bogue and her 5 lady friends from 120. (2 town class, 1 Q&R, 1 C&D, 1 Hunt II)

So I decide to announce my appraoch by rising snorkel at 4000 meters away. The DDs dutifully come at me one at a time and the first 3 are promptly dispatched by GNATs.

Then the Hunt II. I nail her with a Torp. the game crashed. I reloaded from initial contact with the TF. This time, I seek out the Hunt and attack her first. Again, impact->game crash. In eight-nine reloads, I try different torpedoes, impact and keel shots, all end with a crash as soon as the torpedoes makes impact with the Hunt (The other DD's as well as the Bogue sinks as normal). (Message will show torpedo impact, but no sinking confirmation). I even readjusted the video setting to no avail.

anyone know what is going on?

The Hunt II captain knows somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody on the Dev Team? Sounds like pretty sweet protection to me! :p No clue otherwise.

I got a different message informing the SH3 has crashed. That message box doesn't offer me any more information like the example you gave. But I can send you the saved file if you want.

On a related note, I play my SH3 on a dell laptop. SH3 crashes once in a while (about 1 every three completed patrols). But never as "consistent" as this.

Measured agression my friend. I have all 23 torps, among them 6 GNATs. I fire them at range 2000-3000. The DDs will be dead just about 500m-800m from me. If not, I will finish them off with my Type I's. The trick is to get them to attack you in sequence, not all at the same time.

BTW, in the real world/war, A smart DD commander will circle me with the 5 DDs to cut off my retreat. Together with planes from the Bogue on top of me, I will be canned tuna before sun rise.

Of cause, in the real world/war, I will be dead silent, under 200 meters, and heading at the opposite direction as soon as I heard the sign of a hunter group on hyprophone.

If you are not getting that error pop up then error reporting probably isnt enabled in windows

Will have to hunt down the info to switch it on

I go through it one more time. Same result, the Message says "Windows is collection more information about this problem, this might take a few minutes."

They are not kiding when they said about taking a few minutes.
