Though I am still true to my beloved SH 3 (GWX) I have realized
that some Skippers can not endure the harsh Atlantic and have been
reasigned to the warm waters of the Pacific.

Silent Hunter Addict has reflected this reasignment by adding SH 4 mods
and other goodies. We are now SH 3, SH 4, & GWX.
I am sure I have missed many mods. IF YOUR MODS ARE NOT SHOWN & YOU WOULD LIKE THEM LINKED PLEASE LET ME KNOW

i use SH4 vs 1.5 with Trigger Maru Overhauled and RSRDC and it kicks sh3 GWX 2.1 his ASS

(only the gameplay and warexperience (scripted campaignlayer) in GWX 2.1 is better
but RSRDC comes VERY CLOSE!

if we have the same mod as GWX 2.1 is for SH3 in sh4 man we all go playing sh4!:sunny:

Really everyone I like both sims and play them both and would never say anything bad about either. I was sub raised on SH3, however both are great sims and that
is the reason I have both on my web site.

If I did not like either sim I would still greatly admire the amount of brain
cells and creativity all the modders have.

That's what i said when i read the first paragraph. Everyone has their preferences, but is it really neccessary to start a thread in such a way to encourage negativity? Im admittedly theater biased, but even i don't start threads like that.

At any rate, yes the atlantic was cold, but the pacific was HOT. If someone thinks 120 to 130 degrees inside a stuffy steel tube breathing foul and stale is a pleasure cruise, their a better man then i.

Someday, if maybe more people will take the time to educate themselves equally on the nuances of both theaters before saying something; maybe this theater vs theater fanboyism will go away, but of that im skeptical. No harm in dreaming though.

This has been going on for years and we've all seen nothing stops it, so instead of locking the threads (which, if you ask me, isnt the greatest idea, it stops the fight, but doesnt solve it) you should start handing out 10-30 day bans for ppl who are constantly in the heated threads running their mouths.

Of course, once we do this, the general membership begins to cry 'foul', 'gestapo moderators', and begin demanding my personal information. Then you have a site where, esentially, marshall law is declared, members have their proverbial knees broken over the slightest infraction and 1/3rd of the users are on a 30-day ban. That's not the type of forum that I would like to frequent, and I'll bet that most of the people here feel the same.

Actually, it does work, and it has worked. This has been the primary difference between SubSim and a lot of those other websites out there. Most of the members here take a step back and calm down before deciding whether or not to reply, and in what manner if they choose to do so. 90% of the antics are perpetrated by just a few who seem to have impulse control issues. A few are always manageable.

Honestly, this silly ATO v PTO thing is not much more than a nuisance. It's like having a welt on your leg and occasionally bumping it. You think 'Oh, yeah, the welt', and then you move on. Most people have moved on.

There is a lot of sour grapes towards this team and the members in it totally in the wrong too. The original poster clearly meant no harm. Yet the skippers came along and pow... man the torpedo tubes. Then a few more came and joined in like a pack of bullies... Laufen was doing SH4 a good turn. instead of thanks... the very first reply the poor bugger gets is that picture up there.

Frankly having observed the route this has taken I feel very disillusioned. Everybody will always have their favourites. But THIS one was started by the PTO faithful.

Members of the team have made these pictures... And I find them funny. Why ? :hmm:
Well, you've created them, at least partly. I mean, you're a bit responsible for their existence. :p
We didn't have anything against the US boat... But some fleetboat fanboys that I will not name kept saying that american boats were oh so much better than the german ones, and all... Well, that's cool. Everyone has a personal opinion and all. But when you read this a lot of times... It starts to get on your nerves a bit, eh. Just as if it was still useful to keep saying that the US and their subs won the war... :roll:
I can't even count how many times I've seen all of you pacific fanatics letting people know that they do not want GWX to appear in the SH4 forums... When you/one of your dearest friends/your work aren't appreciated by your "opponents", you automatically start to dislike them. That is why I support these pictures, and the ones who have made them.


BUT !
We kept these pictures for ourselves, and had the decency not to post the most daring ones... :up:
And let's say I'm even proud to have had the opportunity to laugh a bit at them.

Some (not all, fortunately !) of you pacific lovers have created this war. Why ? Don't know... You just felt the need to do something cause some of you were bored at home, and wanted to create the contest of the most stupid war ever started at Subsim, I guess... :roll:
