Gunter Falke and the crew of U-553 a VIIC boat started their 1st patrol today. Our assigned patrol grid is EK78 and the year is Feb '41 leaving from Lorient. We are currently just West of Spain and have already sunk 15K+ tons of shipping

Well it didn't last long!! Received contacts on hydrophone making up a convoy went in to intercept and was found by a Black Swan FF. Tried to avoid by going deep and running silent with engines off and he still pinged us.:rock: 3 DC hits later my career ended:damn: blasted realistic vulnerability hehe. I still haven't been able to get passed my best of 6 patrols with GWX 2.0 and now 2.1. Great work to all of you who have made this expansion.:up: Will be setting up another career later on today.

Great you can sail out with me! I thought I had finished the war but it turns out it was just a dream and I'n back in WIlhelmshaven in my old VIIB!

How deep, and what was your angle to the DD?

My bow was pointed straight at his and I was at 60m and going deeper when the DC's hit. I didn't change angle or maneuver because according to my nav map he was passing by on my port side and was not above us.
