So, I like to think that I'm a bit of a vet subsimer. I've been lurking and sparsely posting here for a bit and following the various mods and discussions that have taken place here over the years, for both SHIII and SHIV.
But, I've just come across an odd happening that I can't seem to remedy. Unless I'm missing something. Which is where all the experts here at subsim come in.
The Carbon Dioxide levels in my boat continue to rise. Even after surfacing, in fact my "CO2 levels above 10%" reading came on while I was surfaced. I've tried diving and surfacign a couple of times with no luck of venting it. It just continues to fill up. anybody have any ideas?
I'm running v1.5 with the proper TMO + RSRD versions.
This seems to be a bit of a bug:yep: I always surface by clicking on the CO2 button that shows up when the levels reach 10%. Never had a problem doing it this way. As soon as I surface, my O2 levels return to 100%;)
hi,
Stock bug in the game - this is usually caused by loading a save game or (what happened to me) Alt-Tabbing out of the game to desktop.
Try saving and reloading the game that fixed it for me. Nowaday's i don't save or alt -tab, i finish the patrol in one sitting and it hasn't happened to me since.

You're right Kaleun. It seemed to be a load game bug. I went back in after posting this and the Oxygen had refilled. I thought I was going to slowly choke out my crew on that one.
Weird cruise too. Came upon a IJN carrier task force, two MAYA heavy cruisers and two HIRYU fleet carriers escorted by some obsolete DE's. Poor guys were actively pinging me, but apparently weren't carrying any DC's. As soon as I figured that out it was free range and I almost let them track me. They were steaming West-North-West about 720nm West of Wake Island. Called it in to COMSUBPAC, and got an objective to sink at least one of the capital ships. I ended up taking down one of the flat tops.
I slipped out to the South and went back to shadowing their course while I recharged my batteries and reloaded tubes. As soon as I was ready to move back in I lost the contact and continuing on the bearing produced nothing.
I decided to continue to my patrol grid only to get there with no reserve fuel to chase anything and not having a single contact minus a few aircraft. Turned home and I'm hoping that I can make it to Midway for a re-fuel. :-?
Thank you for the help.

Again?
The Carbon Dioxide levels in my boat continue to rise.

Exact post, repeated:
But now I've encountered a problem. CO2 is building up despite being on the surface. I have no idea why, or how to make it stop building. How do I get my CO2 to decrease?
It's a "bug" that happens now and then.
Save the game [preferred on surface] . Exit the game. Restart the game, load your saved game - problem stops - CO2 levels start declining.
Happened to me 2-3 times [surfaced, but CO2 levels continue to climb if not kill you], but it has not happened again to me in the past 3 weeks.
My educated guess - Somehow the game loses track the you are surfaced and CO2 levels should go DOWN not UP. The save, exit, reload is the only work around that works for me.
Now get GOING!!! Put them rats on the BOTTOM!, nub :p
