Sunk my first English Submarine

Never happened to me before.

Found an "S" class sub cruising on the surface. Could not find it in the ID books so I did not know what to use for the height.

Charged up to it and got a good hit with my deck gun. I got credit for the kill but the sub would not sink. Stood around for a long time pumping rounds into the sub but no sinking.

is this normal for an enemy sub?

How do you set up a torpedo shot on a surfaced sub? How do you calculate range?

You have to guess range when you have no other way to tell.

Guess the range, guess the AOB and do your best with the speed. Get within 800m before you fire.


The AI subs sometimes do not sink.

Sinking an enemy sub is very satisfying... not when they fight back though. lol

I ran into an S class a year ago (game time). I thought it was one of our own until it started shooting at me! Fortunately, my gunner was a lot better and I took it out pretty quickly. Lots of renown IIRC.
