What a load of... you know what!:damn:

If he hates religion so much why doesn't he kill it, right?:nope:
Even mild mannered Atheists will be offended by that nonsense!:damn:

And besides, he, the "Atheist", lists only the gods from various cultures all over the world. If someone showed this piece of 'bleep' in the news, there would be outrage in the streets!

If he wants a religionless society, he should go back to Russia, 1922! That should knock him off his high horse!

BTW, what was the music playing on the intro, I was thinking of adding it to my SH3 Gramophone.

It's "O Fortuna" from the orchestration of Carmina Burana composed by Karl Orff.

The spoken commentary of the video is offensive alright. I am not a "religious" person in the traditional sense of the word, but I respect religious feelings and promote the respect of religious feelings in any case that does not interfere directly with the beliefs of non-religious people or people of different religious denominations.

The list itself though is food for thought, in the sense that it shows that man is by nature a being with spiritual aspirations and that most denominations are simply a combination of a philosophy of life and a specific personification of a belief. Arbitrarily claiming that one god or denomination is superior to another, or that its creed is the base of a "natural" morality, is as intolerant as the pig-headed unwillingness of many to accept the idea of a god in the first place.

:stare: How can someone compile a list of gods and miss out "Letum" the god I'm named after!

As for the video and commentary; it's hardly interllectually serious, even if the points, which it fails to make well, are.

I'm an atheist, but Zeitgeist was, to be frank, a horrible movie. The editing, the accuracy, the presentation, everything. It didn't even have a proper introduction, so I had to watch it for 30 minutes before figuring out what it was even about.

Listing the gods of the world was a nice effect, though, and yes, there are quite a few religious views out there. An infinity in fact, since there's an infinite number of ways to look at the universe, gods, origins, life before and/or after death, etc.

If he wants a religionless society, he should go back to Russia, 1922! That should knock him off his high horse!Right, the old "the only atheist countries out there have been communist dictatorships"-lie:nope:. Ask your pastor about Scandinavia, Iceland, Canada and Japan some day. All are democracies, all are high on the HDI, all are doing well economically.

Atheism isn't the death sentence the fundamentalists make it out to be. Don't fall for such rubbish.

Even mild mannered Atheists will be offended by that nonsense!:damn:Actually, you're right. I wasn't offended as such, but I felt he was unnecessarily obnoxious. Sure, you can make jokes about religious stories the way you can make jokes and parodies about any story, but... that was just childish.

mild mannered atheists...?

An atheist who is respectful to theistic religions does not know why he is an atheist. In a way he contradicts himself. ;)

Will this come with an explanation..why should an athiest bother to say anything to someone who has god orientated delusions.

Because to point out people are deluded generally offends. I have xtian friends (not as many as the pagan , athiest and heathen friends) and we've developed a kind of 'don't ask. don't tell' attitude which seems to work quite well, they don't get sarcasm, I don't get told a load of tommy rot. Still could be worse they've mostly stopped murdering people now I guess.

Guess I could listen to the piece now I'm home from work.

Right, the old "the only atheist countries out there have been communist dictatorships"-lie:nope:. Ask your pastor about Scandinavia, Iceland, Canada and Japan some day. All are democracies, all are high on the HDI, all are doing well economically.

Since when is Canada an atheist country? Even Sweden for example sitll has an official state church, even if no one follows it.

Agree Zeitgiest is a poor film.
