Hi guys. Running version 1.4 with RSRDC. The following are just things I've noted that may have been fluke or maybe a part of the game, but might be of interest to some in any case.
1) I had some issues with a single air contact approaching an island chain, basically single contact over and over (presumably as I moved through a patrol area). In passing I decided to check out the harbours. A choice opportunity existed as a storm must have passed through sinking the auxilliary merchant and the minelayer as well as damaging a number of merchants. I was able to sink the merchants easily, but of more importance was a seaplane moored in the harbour. I surfaced and sank the thing with my 40mm from about 500yds range. The interesting thing was, no air intercepts for the rest of the patrol. Once may be a coincidence, but this has happened a few times, but only when I sink a plane that is moored. Stay away from the boogey man who hunts you in bed?
2) of more value. I took a depth charging that ko'd my deck gun. OK, so I finish the patrol and return to base, refit, leave on another patrol (yes I ended the patrol). The next 2 patrols I didn't need the deck gun but I noticed that the barrel was pointing down. On the third patrol when I wanted to use the gun, it wouldn't work. On return to base I spent renown on a new gun, and now it works. Is this normal? I thought the gun would be fixed on refit, not have to be re-purchased. Not an issue, I had enough renown by then to not only replace the gun, but 3/4 of the crew as well (it had a become a training boat for officers and CPO's).
3) On that last patrol I lost control of the dive planes. If I went to periscope depth she went to 48 feet not 60ft. If I went to normal dive it worked, but if I hit A to hold depth or P for periscope depth she came back to 48ft. If I hit D again it had to cycle to 48ft before diving again. Made attacking anything with an escort somewhat dicey. After returning to port and starting a new patrol, all fixed, dives as normal.
Like I said, just observations. If any others have seen similar, maybe it's the sim. Otherwise just the random factors aligning in weird ways for me...
