Glad to see this back in the air, so I decided to sign up before it was to late. ;)

Right, so I'm puzzled (wouldn't be the first time with this game  ): I started a couple of careers before, long time ago, and I found the versions before 1.4 are definetly unplayable, at least to me. I really regretted actually having paid for it, but I had high hopes Ubi would work out the (more serious) issues. Finally version 1.4 came around and I was pleasently surprised, even better, I had a new comp that kicked the crap out of the game and gives me some really pleasing eyecandy.

So I installed the game on my new rig, started a career, completed 2 patrols and was very satisfied. I knew from SH3 that there is a great community producing awesome mods and decided I wanted to try some. Downloaded ROW and NSM, installed those and started a new career under the same name. At the end of my first patrol the screen pops up where you get you're reward and it states that it was the second patrol. Likewise, after just completing my second patrol it states that was the third. I know it's a minor detail, but it anoys the crap out of me, especially with my memory still scarred by my past experiences.

Anyone know how to fix this? I tried opening just about every file I could dig up in notepad, but it's only p*****g me of more. I'm really starting to lose my patience with this... game, no matter how good it is (or rather, could be :nope: ).

The career count bug is very minor. Most of us have gotten over it. Apparently (to me) zero indexing is being used in part of the game code.

I know how many patrols I've made since I use that to name my game saves.

There is no known "fix" so if this is all that's hanging up the game for you, it's a bust.

I'll admit I overreacted a bit, shouldn't let something that silly get me down. I spent so much time going through endless lines of text it made me feel a bit frustrated, but I got things back in perspective now, even enjoying the game more then ever thanks to some wonderfull modding.:)

Thanks for the response, it will help me laying this to rest.;)
