Hi all,

Like many others, I purchased SH4 when new, loaded it, swore extensively, and then took it back off my computer.

Now, I have heard that with all the updates, etc, it is a much, much better game and I am thinking of loading it back up. (just to get some Pacific action).

But I was wondering about a couple of things and I thought some of you might know. One of my biggest problems with SH4 originally was things like the periscope and the fact you couldn't put it up in increments, it just shot up full length and you had to adjust the sub's depth in order to put the periscope head just above the waves. Does anyone know if those kind of things were ever fixed?

And the overall environment just never felt nearly as immersive as SHIII, especially after GWX's. It felt kind of arcade like what with the giant flags on ships, etc.
Again, anyone know if things like that were ever fixed?

Now, I suppose I could just load up SH4 and all the updates and mods and see for myself, but I am just soooooo dang lazy!! :nope:

Thanks all for any input and thanks as always for such and excellent forum!

If you head back over to SH4 don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out :arrgh!:

I think you'd be better off looking in the SH4 section of the forum matey.

Why not ask some of your questions over in the SH4 Forums, folks there would be glad to help out :yep: Also, nothing wrong with playing em' both, in the end though it's your choice.

Yup, checked out the SH4 forum and got the answers I was looking for. And I would absolutely not quit playing SH3. There are still too many things missing from SH4 that GWX took care of. Like I said, I am just looking to do some Pacific hunting for a while.

Thanks for the help.

But I was wondering ....

I run ONE mod with SHIV, RFB [Real Fleet Boat version 1.5].

Rockin Robbins video on the Dick O'Kane method of attack taught me manual targeting and TRIPLED my game play enjoyment.

The idea of playing SHIII is less and less day-by-day.
