I know there were a couple aircraft carriers employed by the British during the German invasion of Norway. But which ones are in GWX 2.1? I stumbled across HMS Illustrius on April 8 or 9. But in real life Illustrius didn't see service for another month or so. I am guessing then that the Illustrius I came across is actually supposed to be one of the other carriers. Is it HMS Furious?

By the way, when I encountered the Task Force, I was shocked to see the carrier and a Southhampton turned immediately toward me when I was about 2,000 meters from the carrier at periscope depth, so I knew I had been detected. I fired off four torps and crash dived. I don't believe I inflicted any hits. I was unmolested by the escorts and proceeded to encounter another Task Force a day or two later, this one had the HMS Nelson, or whatever, that is supposed to be, HMS Warspite I think, and disabled her with one hit out of three torps. I had one torp left on my boat and after evading the escorts lined up a fool proof stern shot. It was a dud! I followed the battle wagon for about a day and then gave up after it suddenly went from 1 knot to 3 knots and then full speed. I guess they were able to repair the damage!

BTW, GWX 2.1 is awesome!

In regards to SHIII carriers, the Illustrious class is the only class of UK CV or even CVL available in-game so far (plus the Bogue clas CVE, of course); after all this time, no one has actually built any new ones. Sergbuto does have the HMS Furious under construction, but it has been about a year since he discussed anything in regards to the model's completion (he didn't seem really happy with the quality by SHIII standards).

Hi Whiskey T Foxtrot,

You may remember that it was HMS Glorious that was sunk on 18th June 1940 whilst returning from the Norwegian campaign. She was carrying Hurricanes and Gladiators and their crews at the time. Her sister ship HMS Courageous had been sunk by two torpedoes from U20 in the Western Approaches on 17 Sep 1939. I don't think any other carriers were involved in the Norwegian debacle.
