What Medals have you won

I'm asking because I always get the same medals

Every patrol I finish I earn a medal. I play at normal. So I guess I have to step up my difficulty level :yep:

So far I've earned:

01 x Bronze Star
04 x Silver Stars
01 x Navy Cross
01 x Purple Heart
02 x Medal of Honors :hmm: Is there any person who actually earned 2 Medal of Honors??

Anyway here is a screen:

But when I'm in office and I open my medal case I see different medals. As shown in the screen below:

Here I see the Navy Distinguished Service Medal (which should be a Medal of Honor.)

So what other Medals can be earned? I think only that Distinguished Service medal. Since there is only room for one more medal. I have a MoH (but in the box shown as a NDSM)

Yeah i know. I fixed all the other stuff where proper display of medals is concerned, but the textures in the medal case was giving me greif, so i just let it go.

That's no problem at all (at least not for me anyway), You did an outstanding job for making authentic medals. I just wanted to know if other skippers earn medals so easily. In real life to get the Medal of honor one had to pull of some extremely special stunts and most of the times died will doing so. And I got it twice.

I mean I got 9 medals in 8 patrols. I find it difficult to believe that they actually gave shiny medals after every patrol. Is that because I play this game at NORMAL difficulty. If I play it at difficult level HARD, will it be also harder to get medals? Or has that nothing to do with that?

Also, what are the requirements for getting Different medals? I know how to get the Purple Heart. :lol: But what about the Bronze/Silver Star, MoH, Navy cross, etc.
And for the Crew? I'm only able to hand out silver and bronze stars. :D

Nobody "wins" the Medal of Honor (or any other military medal, for that matter) - there isn't a competition for them.

One of the folks to earn two MOH was Tom Custer, George Armstrong Custer's young brother. They used to have this banter where George would brag on being a Brevet Major General at 26 years of age and Tom would say, "Yeah, but I won all the medals."

The pix at the top of this thread looks great. I've installed Midnite's medal mod that straightens them out from the vanilla version, but all I get at end of patrol is a generic award screen backed by a photo of a presentation. Doesn't say what decoration was awarded. Have to check the shadow box to find out and there is no record that I can find that shows multiple awards like the one above does on the right margin.

Where can I get this mod?

I've been awarded 4 Bronze Stars, 1 Silver Star, 1 Service Medal, and 1 CMH. I've also increased the renoun point requirements (as posted by Ducimus in another post) to make it harder to get them "thar" medals to come by. It really makes you conserve your torpedoes, and take greater care in firing them, like the real Skippers did. That is, get in as close as possible, and fire only when you know you can't miss, and hope the stupid fish don't run too deep. My second or third patrol was very frustrating, as 16 outta 22 torpedoes ran too deep and passed under the targets. And that was after setting them on the shallowest setting. And outta the remaining 6 fish, 3 prematurely detonated.

Wonder what happened with my career and medals? On my current career I'm on the sixth patrol now but the game insists that I've done only two. Huh. Keeps handing the same medal also(forgot which one),although I'm already giving out higher ones to the crew. I don't really care about some dam trinkets but it made me wonder if this affects my career as well. Judging by the tonnage I'm hauling in they should've riveted me behind the desk long ago. Some mod conflict, probably. No biggie.
