Hi,
On my last, (2nd) patrol I saw a DD but could not identify it in the Recognition manual. It had twin funnels close together, rather thick with the after one slightly shorter; 4x1 gun mounts; two Oerlikons between the funnels, one port one stbd, 1x4 torpedo tube mount, a square box like bridge with a cabin on top at the rear.
The funnels are too fat and too close together for it to be an 'A' class which had 2x4 torp mounts, though the single gun mounts and the bridge is the same. The bridge shape means its not a 'Tribal' which in any case had 4x2 gun mountsl. The neartest to it in my book 'Destroyers of World War Two is the 'G' class but without the second set of torpedo tubes, or perhaps one of the ex Turkish DD commandered by the RN at the outbreak of war.
Any clues anyone?
