Okay, I'm moving in to intercept a taskforce inbetween Lock Ewe and Scarpa flow, It's been tracked up the coast, and is turning East. EVERY time I get to an intercept point, it just disappears..

So, my question is, am I suppose to beable to catch these map contacts, or are my guys just not noticing a task force sailing by?

GWX 2.0 btw, no other mods.

Thanks.

have you tried submerging when you near the intercept point to try and listen out for them? That would give you a more exact idea as to where the ships are, if you are close enough to hear them when you dive.

A taskforce makes a hell of alot of noise when they're cranking along at some 30 knots.

Hi, it's not a problem if a task force or a convoy disappears just close to the harbour. In SH3 every ship has an in-game entry/exit time, governed by configuration files.

So, maybe your task force simply disappear due to reaching its exit time..

For theese reasons, it's better encounter a convoy in open sea, instead of near to harbour.

Once any unit reaches it's final Waypoint?
It goes POOF!!

And if you have GWX 2.0?
Go to 2.1
There are alot of fixes included in it that
will solve problems before you see them.
:yep:

Yes.
If they vanish at the same spot on re-play?
Go about ten kilometers on thier reverse course and jump them early.
If you time it just right?
The escorts will vanish and you have free range on the convoy!!

If this is the Task force that gets reported going up towards Loch Ewe through the Strait to the west at 8kts in the early part of the war I can concour that it gets to it's end waypoint before reaching Loch Ewe. I have not been brave enough to enter the strait to chase it down before that point and it has never arrived after it.

Exact one....... I happened to be up by Loch Ewe/The sub base, and watched them come up as I headed down to try and get them....

Anywhere near their "Poof Point" they're gone. Been an empty sail, so I might keep reloading just to see them.

I think you just did. I wouldn't have even thought of that if you hadn't been kind enough to mention it.:rotfl:
