just what are these sources of radiation that are talked about in this artical. they dont seem to be willing to go into detail what exactly is radiotive.

They are all radioactive sources used in the medical field, not from a power plant. I overheard an ignorant co-worker the other day discussing the earthquake say “Oh great, another Chernobyl!”

right i was just wondering what it referred to. and of course the media likes it better not to tell us what exactly it realy is.

Well since radioactivity is a natural occurring effect in nature, this could be anything.

"Foreign experts say the radioactive sources likely came from materials used in hospitals, factories or in research". There is a wide range of radioactive materials, most of which are so low as to be hidden in the naturally occurring background radiation.

Since the source or the strength was not identified, my rat-like instincts think that this was just a reporter trying to stir up emotional response by using the dreaded "R" word
