Have I got it wrong?

Hi, I came to SH3 some months ago. I did SH 2 some years ago and really enjoyed it.
Have gone through from 1939 to October 1944 and am board to death.
I go out and sink everything in sight, saving torpes, using guns and coming back with 3 pages of kills and planes shot down. My crew can hardly stand up for the weight of the meddles they have. I have 2623 renown in the bank (an IXC costs 30000).
I’ve never seen a supply boat. Have seen 3 convoys, but most are too far to catch. Have never seen a battleship. If I go into ports they are nearly always empty.
Basically, the game is monotonous and unexciting. That can’t be right! What’s wrong with my game? :nope:

sounds like the stock game to me.

if you want all the goodies you have to download the mods.

Patch to version 1.4b and download and install GWX 2.1, also get SH3 commander.

the stock game is considered by many of us to be "u-boat school" ie. there is no real danger but you are learning many things you need to know in order to survive a few patrols with GWX 2.1

Even in the stock game, three pages of kills in 44 is a lot

Yep. Use GWX, use SH3 Commander, and play at 100%. You might not be quite so bored.

I think you meant an IX costs 3000.....with that many kills on your patrols you should up your realism settings and get the full benefit of renown awarded.
