Not surprising..
Not surprising..
but most definantly funny :rotfl::rotfl:
Poor sod minding his own business, save the beer.
"I'm arresting you for being in possesion of an offensive haircut"
Poor sod minding his own business, save the beer.
Poor sod?!
He was rioting!
Perhaps it would have been better to tase him, but it's quicker to just do a sheild bash.

It would appear somebody took the easy option.....a real hero :nope:

Was he? Didn't look like he was from the pictures.

For all the police knew he was a rioter or even a terrorist.
You can't take chances.
If you assume that everyone is innocent before you sheild-bash them then one day
you are going to assume a terrorist/rioter is innocent and not sheild-bash him.
Habeas Corpus is letting the terrorists and rioters win.

Your also trained not to make assumptions and only use force when you have sufficient evidence to prove in a court of law that you had 'REASONABLE' justification.
I saw no evidence that this individual was a threat to any property or person.
A question: If there had been a BBC film crew on the pavement shooting film, would our Rambo like friend have waded in ?
I think not.
I'm only grateful the victim was nobody in my family.
It is irresponsible actions like these that give fuel to those who claim all British Police Officers act in a brutal and thoughtless manner in riot conditions.
Believe me....WE DO NOT :nope:
One officer was set upon by a large group of thugs and was saved from possible serious injury by the brave actions of a civilian.....In those circumstances, a high measure/degree of force should be handed out and hang the consequences when a life is at stake, whether it be Police or civilian.
In this case it is abundantly clear that the guy was posing no threat or danger to anybody. He appears to be simply looking on at what is happening with a can in his hand.
A site many of us see on the streets of Britain daily.

I don't agree with the violence that took place after the "technical hitch" with the TV screen, but thats just out of order. The guy is quite obviously just walking along at a leasurely pace with a beer... and this geezer just comes over and nuts him one.
Makes you wonder why people don't trust the police! If they can't police themselves god help the rest of us. :nope:

It happens quite often, too often actually.
I've even seen off duty guys being detained for pitch invasions during football matches.
They tend not to be off duty ever again a few month after though :nope:

Generally, if you have a line of riot police moving like that, then there's already been an order to clear the area, and this guy looks like he's making no effort to comply.
I can see guys with what look like golf clubs in the background. Not casting any aspersions on Scottish types, but we all know the anger that orders from riot police can bring out in a riled-up crowd.
