Grid is the successor to toca and does a fantastic job in making a very realistic race game

You have got to be kidding me ...

GRID is not a racing sim, its not even a remote cousin of realism. Codemasters have stated that it is not realism they are after, and golly have they done a good job. This game is the worst racing game I have ever played. (Havent tried NFS lately, though)

The crashing is great, but the core of racing - physics of the car - is laughable.

I tried GT5 Prologue the other day, and its half decent, although not heavy on the realism either. But heaps better than GRID.

Have you even played the demo m8. It seems pretty realistic to me. What would you improve to make it more realistic.

First of all, make the cars behave like cars. The BMW turns like a Formula 1 car, f.i.

ok thats better. what else do you think is wrong?

The glaring HDR, but thats moddable. (For the PC version)

The main problem is the physics, though. I dont see the point in buying a racing game when it doesnt feel like you are driving a car. I love the damage model though, wish I could get something like that in say GTR2.

The game has taken a trashing in the simracing community, by the way. And now Codemasters have grabbed the right to Formula 1 ... Damn it.

Not trying to offend anyone, I just really hate arcade racers.

I'm less ardent about arcade racers than Stabiz, as I've only recently been converted to a driving sim fanatic. That said, once I played GT Legends, I don't know if I can really go back to NFS style games.

I do wish they'd do some games with story and plotline and car customization that were more GTLish, physics wise. I'm a sucker for a bit of drama.

Anyway...point of the post is this: Prior to my GTL experience, I'd have had no clue what Stabiz was one about in regards to this game not being a driving sim. Now I know exactly what he's talking about and why he scoffs, and thus, I must urge any driving-game fan to try a real-sim type game.

Once you get a taste, you'll only want more.

I downloaded the PS3 demo last night, and enjoyed it somewhat.

The damage model would be really nice on Gran Turismo.

I really hate the way the cars in GT just bounce off each other, and the environment. Fingers crossed for the final release.

Well there is no denying the graphics do look really good. The damage model is great. Try really messing up a car and it does a nice job.

That said it is an arcade game, it handles like and arcade game and is presented like one. 3 lap races, no sort of time trial mode. If that is your thing this will be a good title. If you prefer a simulation you are better off elsewhere.

I haven't tried them on! lol.. But I have been driving more simulator ones for years and use a decent steering wheel and pedals setup :p

Lol its awesumn and i think they handle a lot more realisticly, or at the very least harder.
