Ohhh how i miss the ATR! such a fantastic airplane! she was my little French mistress! i wish i could have tried that out but i dont think the passengers would have enjoyed it as much as i would. :D

By the photos it looks more like a barrel roll than a looping, or am I wrong?

ATR-42,
for FS9 and FSX there is one of the best ever packages around, treating the ATR-72/500. It is one of the very best packages I ever had for FS, and was ordered by the producer of the ATR himself, giving the developer all support and almost unlimited access to the real things.

Probably not. Probably just a misunderstood word from my side. I didn't check my dictionary first before posting...

When the plane turns round, so the wings turn round 360 deg. then it is a barrel roll?
Then that's what happened, though from the photos it looks like it aims at starting to do a loop too, but only for a short moment before it then makes a barrel roll.

Anyway, not matter the vocabulary. The stunt is still great.:o

I don't know if I would have liked being a passenger, even with the seat belt on :dead:

its less of a barrel roll and more of a combine maneuver using roll and pitch. the plane obviously isnt certified to do this as a transport category but what the pilot does by pitching while rolling with enough energy at the initiation of the maneuver is maintain "one G" all the way through the roll by pitching up then down so theoretically the plane always has one G on it, if its done properly, thereby not stressing anything beyond certified limits its no different than if the plane were flyings straight and level....

I never had the chance to fly the 72 series but everyone i work with that did said they were even better than the 42-320 that i flew for the airline 7 years ago. Ive since moved on to fly the B737 but to be honest, of all the airplanes ive flown the one that flys the most like the 737 was the ATR-42-320. flys like a kitten. :) like a big C-172 :D

if id could have made more money flying it i would have stayed on the ATR-42 forever :)

where's it

It was made above the airport of Sønderborg in the south-west of Denmark (my country).
In fact, it was the director of the air company, Cimber Air, who did it himself. :o The authorities are NOT pleased about this.

Here's an article in Danish about it:
http://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samfund/article1007363.ece
It has a photo of the director.

I don't see why they would be upset unless it strained the airframe.
