Hi all. I have been playing SH4 for some time, I've really enjoyed it. My system can run the game fine.

Recently though...I got SH3 v1.4, w/GWX MOD activated. I run the game fine unless I am in free camera view and panning level or looking up towards the sky...thats when the frame rates are so sticky that I cannot even play. My system seems to meet all requirements and I'm running it with graphics low. I have the same problem with or without the super MOD activated.

I am wondering if there is a MOD for the sky, to reduce clouds or something. Or a way to improve the frame rates.

When looking down or if under water, inside the ship, the game couldn't be smoother.

Any help would be appreciated, thanx all.

What are your system specs? Also what AA and AF settings do your run of the Gfx card?

AMD Turion 64 mobile.
Technology ML-34
1.79 GHz, 960 RAM
ATI Radeon XPRESS 200

I have AA turned off currently.
I use FSautostart.

"Thanx for the welcome"...& thanx for taking the time to help me trouble shoot this all. Everything in the game, including time compression, runs very smooth, but it seems to be the sky that slows me down.:hmm:

Welcome aboard, Runningdeer!
Sounds like a graphics card to problem to me.

Well Sir,
You are running the same system I develop on.
HP system?
Go to two gigs RAM as you are WAY low on RAM.
The Vid runs 256 megs and I have no problems with it after going from 1 gig
to 2 gigs.

Stay away from the newest drivers from ATI.
Omega drivers work best for me infact.

Ahhh....ok. I've never thought about getting more RAM. I had checked into changing my video card once, but learned that the integrated chipset in this HP slimline tower was said to be very difficult or impossible to change out.

Hopefully adding or changing memory will be possible.

So ya think my processor is of sufficient speed?

Thanx.

From your PM.
I have two slots and run a 1 gig stick in each.
Not sure if there are any 2 gig sticks.
It would be nice if there is such a critter for these Notebooks.
:yep:

Thanx for the help all. I'm looking at getting a new system now. Geared specifically for gaming. One that is upgradable. With this HP slimline I feel like I'm trying to get blood out of a turnip.

Hopefully I'll have the new rig by tonight. It'll be awesome to be able to run environmental effects and so on.
