whats the least amunt of shots from ur deck gun to sink a ship?

today i fired one shot from my deck gun and took out a small merchant which caused a massive explosion. anyone else done that?

also sunk the hood for the first time tonight. two eels under the forward guns at 6m.

Yeah I've one shotted merchants before but its very rare.

And out of all my time playing GWX I've NEVER seen the Hood! I will pop open some champange when I kill that ship I tell you lol its getting very annoying.

Took me 5 or 6 shells to sink a coastal freighter a couple of days ago, and that's my best score so far...

1 shell only, a coastal freighter, hit it just right apparently and it split in half and sank in a minute

But the trawler was already listing badly due to some earlier attack, and it sunk some hours later :up:

About 6 rounds to sink a costal freighter, due to me hitting it in its fuel bunker and sunk within 3 minutes.

In GWX with realistic damage settings, 1 shot for a coal tender, 2 or 3 is the best I've done with a small merchant. About 5 hits for an Empire class freighter. Secondary explosions and blowing up the cargo really seem to hurt small merchants more than other ships.
