Game Wont Start

I have one computer, Athalon xp erra, runs the game just fine.
Have others, sons and I love multiplay.
Put second copy on almost identical unit.
It installs and even registers but when you click start it does two seconds of something then sits there like you never started program?????
Looks like it went to some kind of auto update site, ran the thermometers for two seconds then disapears.
You folks post all kinds of notes about stuff running for antri piracy and such, but why the hell does'nt ubi soft say anything.
I wrote to them and told them if we are getting this paranoid let's just all unplug and show up at the local library for D@D!!
Any one know what an ol' fart needs to uninstall etc. to get this to work?
I was all ready to buy multiple copys, etc. were thinkin wolfpack here....
Theres there piracy thing, right in the teeth from a real ol gamer and family!
I actualy collect computers to leave them able to play games like a favorite....Silent hunter.
At least they used to work!

I'm not sure that is the issue I have mutiple installs of the game on my computer, some are just copy's but at least one is a fresh intall from the DVD... So maybe you might look at others issues, not sure what they would be but... oh and I also have a fresh install on my old pc, for when my son comes ovver and we want to play together.

Thanks John. I did update my virus and spyware and chased a load of junk out.
As a side the Mcaffes stops the program and promps for permission so I was able to see the .EXE file is no exe at all but an auto update. I also notice the registration crashes my Explorer right at the last confirm so the game isn't actualy finishing the end of registration.
Is some kind of unlock or atribute switch happening after the install?
I'll try UBI soft again but you're right it doesn't look like anyone else has this problem.
I know new programs are getting worse, our Battlefield 2 expansion pack won't let you play the levels alone unless you are online!!!!! Even alone.
