And I thought the days of the Ewok Christmas special were over back in the 70's.

And yet tonight I'm watching the "Deal or No Deal" Star Wars theme show.
Darth Vader is the banker :nope:
Laser sounds, storm troopers, slave girl outfits and all.

I shoulda recorded it... :damn:

Trust me. In the world of product design and rejected merchandise concepts, there have been greater potential lows for Star Wars.

It can't get any lower than the Star Wars Christmas Special. Something posessed the writers to name Chewbacca's dad Itchy and his son Lumpy !! :nope:

I'm pretty sure I would've preferred CG characters in place of both Anakin human versions.

Why wasnt Yoda the banker? "How you get so rich, making deals of this kind?"

I take it you've never seen the special. Trust me, you watch it once and you'll be begging for Jar-Jar!

I saw it the first time through, and for some reason decades later I found and bought a bootleg copy. I couldn't make it through ten minutes.:dead:

Yes, it's that bad.

Darth even used "the force" to open the box that allows the contestant to press the button. I kid you not!

R2-D2, C3P0 and Chewbacca were present there in the family cheering section. If only Lumpy and Itchy were there...

An excerpt of the comments for this video:
"How did this not ruin George Lucas's career?"

"this should be burned"

"Wow. I'd heard that it was bad, but nothing could've prepared me for this appalling level of suckitude. I feel truly embarrassed for everyone involved."

The Star Wars Holiday Special. Pain.

-A drugged up Carrie Fisher
-An incredibly embarrassed looking Harrison Ford
-Mark Hamil heavily made up to disquise his reconstructive surgery (he had a car crash that year, I believe)
-Jefferson Starship (ugh!)
-Unfunny skits from Harvey Corman
-Art Carney (Oh how the mighty did fall on that "Earth Day")
-Bea Arthur. I actually found her section tolerable until she started singing the longest, most annoying freakin' song in the universe!

Did I mention there's singing in this thing? And Bea Arthur?

The only redeeming quality is getting to view the incredibly hot Dihanne Carrol. The downside is that she's singing in a supposedly erotic video nasty which is being watched rather lacsiviously by Itchy (Chebacca's father!)! Yep! In a "Holiday Special" aimed at young viewers. Ah the 70's. Rifftrax did a great commentary for the special, including commercials.

Don't panic folks I'm sure old George will touch up the repeats here and there along with adding more as well. Don't forget there will be a minimum five versions of the show. ;)
