You actully hit the nail right on the head!
Unless something unexpected turns up the 2009 Subsim Meet is scheduled to take place in Copenhagen, so some fun with this baby is a must.

I do have som pics during contruction, but these are not released.

These are the only onces for now:
http://www.silenthunter.dk/link.asp?menu=Forum/forum_choice.htm&doc=http://www.silenthunter.dk/article/UC3/1/UC3_1_1.htm

I can compile a liste of questions for the designer if you like, but I can say its app 18 meters long.
Theoratical max depth is app 600 meters, but safe max depth is 100 meters.
Its app 30 tons.
Snorkel depth speed should be app 10 knots

:o:o:o:o

How much did all that cost? :dead: What? The second sub?
App. 2.500.000 DKKR = 50.000$ = 33.000 Euro

I have no idea what the new one cost...maybe twice that..

Its planned to go to the Mediterranean next year.

It can sail for as long as it has fuel and food, so that pretty long.

He planned the first around the world trip in a submarine too.

What is the calculated max diving depth? I'm curious how you figure it verses the actual max depth (without killing yourselves:dead: ) What's the deepest the kraka has dove?

The max calculated max depth is 600 meters and change (app. 1800 feet)
The max depth she will go to is 100 meters because we calculate a big safety margin.

Kraka went to 25 meters at the most.

UC3 Nautilus skal herefter bugseres over til dens kajplads ved Teglholmen i Københavns Sydhavn

So does this mean, if one is in Copenhagen, one can go and see it?
I mean, how long is it supposed to be at the docks there?

I'm going to Copenhagen the upcoming weekend, and it would be cool, if it's there and I have the time and means to go.

Well during the launch party there was 2 in the engine room, 6 in the main compartment and 2 in the controlroom. During operations I doubt that is realistic. During operations the engineroom is shut off and I guess 4 would be in the main compartment and 2 in the controlroom.

Today, I had the pleasure of being invited onboard Nautilus after having mailed with Peter Madsen
Did you have a good time? Did he have time to show you around?

When I arrived, he had a meeting, so I had to wait a moment, which I spent enjoying the sun and looking at Nautilus from above. It's okay.
Then we spoke a little about it and he mentioned his future project: a rocket
Then he invited me onboard, and when we just had entered, two of his other friends arrived unexpected, which got a tour at the same time. The more people down there, the more one gets a feeling of the size inside.
He showed us some videos on his pc and he showed and told about the engine room. Then we went out through the tower. And while I sat on the tower, he excused himself that he had to go. He was a little in a hurry. It was okay, all three guests did see it.
So yes, I had a good time. It was very interesting. I will post my images later. I just have to process my photos from the Copenhagen Carnival first. Lots of nice women in nice costumes showing their "assets"...

As promised further up in this thread, here are now my pictures from my visit to the Danish privately built submarine.
I didn't use flash with my photos on purpose. I wanted to try to make use of the natural light, if possible, and I think it was okay, except that I needed to change the ISO for some shots, which deliver some grainy shots. I hope you enjoy them
