Thanks for the reminder and the link. I followed the chain to read the article on Bligh himself, and there's some fascinating stuff there. I knew already that part of his court-martial involved the charge that he was too lenient, not too harsh, ; and I knew about his later governorship (but I didn't know it was of New South Wales - I thought he had been governor of all Australia); but I didn't know about his heroics at the battles of Copenhagen and Camperdown, nor the praise he recieved from Admiral Nelson for his actions in the former.

Altogether a fascinating story.
