Off topic - - - but still interesting.

Just watched 'Timewatch' on BBC2 (UK TV), it was a 'Docu-Drama' about the sinking of U864 by HMS Venturer. The only known example of one submarine sinking another whilst both were submerged ...... no easy task given the technology of the time, especially as U864 was on a zig-zag course !!

U864 was carrying Messerschmitt jet engine parts and 65 tonnes of mercury bound for Japan. The area around the wreck is now contaminated with mercury.

The program is available to download or watch onlilne shortly at the BBC's iPlayer site Here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b00794pp.shtml?filter=txdate%3A27-04&filter=txslot%3Aevening&start=1&scope=iplayerlast7days&version_pid=b006pxfy) for the next 6 days.

A couple of other links on the same sinking:
TimesOnline (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/european_football/article758047.ece)
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U864)

Just thought some might find it intersting if they've missed it.
