Yarg. CNN had a bit on it a moment ago. I suspect within the next half-hour, they'll have an article on Google's search about it. When it finally gets up, I'll post a link to it.

I liked the concept of it more than anything. The rest was... meh... alright. Good entertainment value.

Reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will get on the Bandwagon soon. This will all be about discrimination.

Hmmm. I'm not sure about Snipes getting the full three years for this just because he;s famous, and therefore needs to be made an example of.

Sounds to me like the judge would have been more lenient if he had been a nobody.

Bah.

That said, I can't bloody stand Mr Snipes.

EDIT - It seems I have misread the bleedin' article. Disregard last telegram. Cancel the milk. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7366211.stm

Prosecutors argued for him to be made an example of. My last point still stands :P

Wow three years seems a bit high for three misdemeanors.

However, I do agree that no matter how rich you are, or who you have prepare your taxes, it is still up to you, the citizen, to double check the figures and sign your name.

Your signature at the bottom of all the tax forms indicates that you are taking responsibility for the accuracy of this information.

Still, three years seems a bit high for three misdemeanors... of course we are talking $15 million dollars over 10 years so it is not just a "oops, forgot to carry the three" type of mistake.

Don't people know the script. The below is what will happen.

Having been convicted of the charges, Snipes is put on a prison jet for the transfer to a maximum security prison.

On route the jet will crash and Mr Snipes escapes hence becoming a fugitive.

US Marshal Samuel Gerard arrives on the scene with his team of deputies and hunts Snipes down.

In the end Snipes is caught but proves his innocence as a man who had been set up by some drugged up and now rehabbed actor by the name of Robert Downey Jnr.

Last scene sees US Marshal Gerard and Snipes share a laugh and drive off into the sunset. Everybody lives happily ever after except the US Government who never recovered the $15 million.

I've heard about it last year I think, I also heard that he went somewhere in africa to avoid prison.
And a fair thing is that not even stars can break the law without getting punished
