View Full Version : Reading the Flaggen chart, neutral dates
I just started an Oct 1940 campaign and I saw a Greek merchant. I think (can't remember exactly) that the flaggen said this was Allied in spring of 1940. However, when I sunk it, it showed up as neutral. Did I read this wrong? Or isn't it that accurate?

Yeah, it's a pity that SH3 doesn't record the nationality of sunken ships for quick and easy reference.
Might also help, tmdgm, if you post details of the mods that you are using. For instance, GWX 2.1 has Greece as an Ally from 28 October 1940, which is reflected on the flaggen sheet and Help screen. Other mods may use other dates though.

The Flaggen chart says that the Greeks were neutral until 28 Oct 1940, at which time they became Allied.
If you sank the Greek vessel before 28 Oct then you sank a neutral.
Don't tell BdU - your secret is safe with us... for a crate of rum.
Welp, I'm using gwx2.1 with olcgui enabled.
You are correct, if I hit F1 (or is it F2) and select Germany's enemies, it shows Greece for 10/28/40. I sank him 10/02/40. Obviously neutral before 10/28.
However, if I use the binoculars and there is a FLAGGIN button upper right (maybe specifici with OLC?), it shows June 1940 as turning to Allied.
Either way, this FLAGGIN button must be wrong.

Nope, that's not what mine is showing. It's showing June 1940.

GWX is definitely 28 Oct. What mods are you using? Maybe one of those has an incorrect flaggen chart.
Edit: Just re-read your post. I think it must be an olcgui thing - I have no flaggen chart on my binoculars view with standard 2.1. Try asking OLC - he's always more than happy to help.

Beware of any ship, at night, which flies either the Belgium or French flags.
In low light conditions the colors, from a distance, can look virtually identical. Found that out the hard way. Absence or presence of running lights may help ID.
Must be an OLC thing.
I'll try to disable the mod and see if it changes.
Probably won't get to it today.

It's correct in OLC GUI:
