Hello all!

Patroling the caribean sea with an IXC I ran short of fuel
and met with U-460 west the canary islands.

And stayed there from Jan 9 to Feb 19th 1943! Is this a bug
or could this be changed in future as resupplying from a
milkcow normally took just a couple of hours and not a dozen
days.

Btw, I am using random-days at base. For my next voyage to
the southern Atlantic (GQ) I`ll set the days spent in base to
1 day as I am expecting to need a resuply of fuel to come
back ;-)

Is there a Fix for this problem? Or is changing manually the
best mode?
Losing 40 days is a bit heavy for a thing which costs you just
5 hours or so. Is there a possibility to get back the 39 days lost?

A question to IX-type captains: I am running my 1st carrer with an IX
(IXC) and I am thinking to change the boat.
Important for me is the crash-dive deep.

Are IXC40, IXD1 and IXD2 better in this as IXC?

Already thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,

Christian

When you dock to a U-Tanker you spend automatically one (1) day. If you have damage on the boat you spensd an extra day per percentage of damage you have. The question is did you lose 39% Hull Integrity somehow before you docked on U460? (Something is telling me you did)

Sounds like he had massive hull damage.

Hello!

Thank you for your answers!

I had no damage at all. For this I am a bit wondering. A strange thing...
My hull was at 100%. Could it be because I am using
"random days spent at base"? (Milkcow is a base)

BTW I am using GWX 2.0.

Thanx for your answers,

Christian

This is not normally possible.....one day stopover + an additional day for every % point of damage.

Are you using SH3 Commander but without any 3rd party mods :hmm:

when you dock at the milkcow, quit and go back to SH3 Commander and set days in port to 1. Then go back into the game and leave the milkcow. Of course there will be extra days for dmg but if no dmg you will leave the next day.

Just remember to turn your days back to random or whatever before you leave for your next patrol!

Hello Gord!

Seems that you found the philosopher`s stone. Thank you very much Gord for your simple but genial solution! You saved me 39 days of career ;-)

Now I am on my way to South Africa (March `43) where I surely need a milkcow-refill to get back...

10th flotilla is really enjoying :-)

Best regards from the Freestate of Bavaria,

Christian

You don't need to do any of this this. Page 13 from the SH3Cmdr User Guide states:
3. SH3 Commander automatically recognises when you are docked at a milk cow or other friendly base and will automatically adjust the number of days spent in base to 1 without you needing to manually change via the SH3 Options screen. You can click on the label to toggle status. *Note that extra days will be added if damage needs to be repaired; this is a limitation imposed by Silent Hunter III.
All you need do is dock, exit SH3, load SH3Cmdr, note the status (if it says "In other base...", you know it has correctly recognised where you are docked) and press the Launch SH3! button. SH3Cmdr looks after the rest.

You can toggle the status at any time too, so if for whatever reason you want to "force" your "standard" days in base setting when you are docked at a friendly base (or vice versa), simply change the status to "In home base..." by clicking on it.
