Hello everyone im having a little problem while playing sh3, sometime my pc lag when i use the 1024 speed, sometime it is the graphic problem, sometimes it is the camera view or when a boat is in fire it slow my pc's performance. So I am asking myself if there is anything which can boost my performance.( Please dont suggest me to get a new graphic card, and i cannot even afford a cheap graphic card)
If anyone has any suggestion i would be glad to read them.
(AMD 64 Live 5200+, NVIDIA 6150 Le, 2x1056 Ram, Well thats all i can say about my pc)

Welcome to the forum
You might want to have a look at your available RAM and at what background processes/services/programmes you're running and shut some (or better still as many as possible) down before starting up SH3. Configure and run FSautostart to automate all of this. Search the forum for FSautostart, you should find several references to it. Bottom line is you want to make sure your available ram is maxed out. I'm assuming it isn't already. I'm also assuming you're running XP?

Gotta be honest your GFX card is the bottle neck but as you say that it's not an option to renew it, there are a few other tweaks available to you.
1) FSAuto Start or SmokerXP - These programs end/restart all surplus program freeing up RAM.
2) Tab out of SH3 and use Task Manager to set the priority to Above Normal/High.
3) Increase your Pagefile/Virtual RAM and if possible locate it on a HDD that does not contain SH3.
4) Set AA/AF to application controlled (probably is already).
However, if your only concern is lag at 1024 TC, this is normal. It's a horrendous stock SH3 issue where the game lags/stutters when ships/aircraft enter your rendering range. It's usually a tell tale sign of items close to you. Fire & Smoke is SH3 are the biggest FPS drains in the entire game and is entirely dependent on how close you are to them.
On a properly optimised XP system/game ready setup, you can expect somewhere between 26-30 running process and about 230mb system RAM used. Try to aim for these approx figures when looking to increase your performance.

I was wondering about this also. I got 2G RAM + an 8800GT and XP. I did not think I would need more RAM than 2. Do I?

I'm running on 2GB and a 7800GS without any problems, so you should be absolutely fine http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

That is what I hopes. But I still get the chop at 1024 when close to the shore. It makes the canal to Kiel real long because I have to do it on 128.

We all take a fps hit when close to shore because the game is rendering terrain and shipping etc as opposed to what it needs to render when your in the open open sea http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

So nothing I can do about it I guess. I just wanted to check that it was normal. Not so bad since I tranfered over to Wilhelmshafen.
