Alright, can someone please advise what the best torpedo settings are for Early/Late War and when is it best to use "Contact" as opposed to "Contact/Magnetic" and "Low Speed" as opposed to "High"?
I'm getting a lot of "Dud" Torpedos early war when set to "Contact" only and I'm getting No pemature detonations, even in 15m/s seas with "Contact/Magnetic" enabled...something doesn't seem right here....
A Torpedo Settings Tutorial in different conditions is sorely needed here.

Charlie, the faster your torpedo is going the less significant any targeting errors are. Therefore I never use slow speed. Then when the influence setting is active the torpedo will still explode on contact. So long as the water isn't very rough, that's how I'll go.
Some have said that a magnetic exploder will premature in rough conditions. I've always taken that as true and turned it off in a storm. Maybe some others can tell you if they really do premature in rough weather.

Early war (when problems with the Mark 14 torpedo's magnetic detonator and contact detonator were not corrected yet): "Low Speed" with "Contact" detonator and a track angle of 10 to 20+ degrees less than or more than 90 degrees (increase chance of detonation on impact because of weak firing pin).
Late war (Mark 14 torpedo's issues corrected. Magnetic detonator improved, firing pin strengthen and improved): "Fast Speed" with "Contact/Influence" detonator fired with any track angle.
I prefer to use the "Slow Speed" with "Contact" detonator throughout the war.
