View Full Version : What kind of president do you want?
This is a two step question
1 To the American. What kind of president, do you want to take seat, in the White House?
2 To the rest of the world: What kind of president, do you want to take seat, in the White House?

-SYeah, he did. And in so doing saved the lives of countless Americans who would have died in trying to invade and occupy the Japanese homeland. Six days after Nagasaki Japan surrendered.

Anything with a positive IQ for a change would be considered as an improvement. It even does not matter if it has more than two legs.

Someone not suffering from cranial rectal inversion syndrome.
Someone with a triple digit IQ.
Someone who's agenda doesn't include making his cronies richer while plundering the US and world economies.
Someone who realizes we are just a part of the global community, not the master of it.
Someone who wants to end the war(s) and bring the troops home, not just from Iraq, but from everywhere.
Someone who understands that we better start taking care of ourselves first, before we lose the ability to help others.
Someone who understands that our petroleum based economy needs revolution, not evolution, we don't have time. It needs to be fixed now.
Someone who knows the military industrial complex needs to be dismantled and replaced.
Someone who knows the truth, and will tell Americas the truth, that it's gong to get much worse before it gets any better, business as usual is all over. There is no magic bullet, it is going to take sacrifice and hard work to pick up the pieces.
Unfortunately I haven't seen any candidates who "get it".
Judging by this board just about anyone the Europeans DON"T want as President. :p

Someone who is decisive, but those actions come from careful planning and consideration. Also someone who makes life a little better for Americans everywhere.
Another Harry S. Truman... Honest, direct and not afraid of taking responsibility.
DeepIron, I have always thought that Truman was one of the most under-rated and under-appreciated men in the Oval Office. The USA - and the world - could do a lot worse.
An isolationist :88)
A win-win situation there - whether it proves those who complain about American interference in the world right or wrong, it will clearly show what America's role is, should be and shouldn't be.
Meanwhile it might actually give America time to focus on cleaning up some messes at home.

I think dropping the A-bomb is the best thing we could do for mankind. But that is for another thread sometime.:|\\
I want one with the least socialist ideas.
I want the one who will stay away from my wallet (that is more of a local problem than national IMO).
I want one who has a strong stand on foreign policy (but not a hawk per se).
I want one who is partisan and will stand up for their beliefs.
But most of this is worthless, because the other branches of gov't are presently worthless, so I guess we're dead in the water.
I say Neal Stevens 08! :know:

I like that idea, but it seems like the last 2 times we did that, we (US) get dragged into a major European war. Plus, since Canada has closer ties to the Crown:lol: than the US, geuss who gets dragged into the fighting first.
What are those rascally Germans up to these days anyway?:hmm:

As a political moderate, I have to confess that I am unimpressed with any of the candidates.
My only hope is that someone will be elected that can bring my country together. There will always be differences between Republicans and Democrats, but both sides are on the same side... the American side.
It is time to mend the rift between the parties and work together. Working together there are no problems we can't solve. Separate there is nothing we can solve.
It is time to repair.
