This is just a quick note that may save a few some time.


I was running GWX 2.0 with SH3 Commander as the only mod, loaded the mods with JGSME.
I deleted my profile from My Documents as well.

After updating SH3 Commander and installing 2.1, I was able to load the game fine and begin loading my mission, but I experienced problems during the mission loading.

Specifically, total freeze-ups, followed by CTD.


Basically I'm saying it might be better to heed the advice of the GWX staff and install clean, but you may have better luck than I did!

I figured I'd at least give it a go the quick and dirty way first... someone has to be the lab rat!

Any more news on whether it tanks existing careers? I'd kind of hate to leave this one just as I hit mid-war. And I did read the thread with the list of changes, but are any of them really big game-breakers in anyone's experience? The weather mod sounds big, but I could always get that stand-alone if I needed to. Thanks for any info, and a BIG thanks to the GWX team for putting in all their time and effort!

Hello gents,

I`ve a question regarding upgrading GWX 2.0 to GWX 2.1

My GWX 2.0 is running proper. Do I need uninstall the 1.4
update and GWX 2.0 before installing it again and then update
it to 2.1?

I am note quite sure how to proceed as I want to avoid hours
of reinistalling everything :roll:

Also I am amid a career with the 10th flottilla...

Did someone upgrade GWX 2.0 to 2.1 without deinstalling everything???

What are your experiences???

What do you recommend???

We advise you install 2.1 over a clean install patched to 1.4b and with GWX2.0 added.

Click on my sig to access the GWX website where comprehensive installation instructions are available.

I'm not suggesting you do this, but for quickness you may try uninstalling any mods you have as well as the C/MyDocs SH3 folder and try upgrading to 2.1. THAT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
