Hello all,

It seems that the hull integrity meter is missing from my F7 screen. Is this part of realism settings, or a bug?

GWX removes it. You can use SH3 Commander to put it back.

Its part of the realism setting in GWX, like gord said you can put it back.

the argument for removing it is that GWX is a historical accuracy/ realism mod... not just a graphics kick... the theory is that in real life the commander of the sub had no idea what his "hull integrity" was therfore it should be removed from the game... so it was.

but dont fret... like Gord said it can be returned to the screen using SH3 Commander.

Also i highly recommend at least browsing through the included manual, pretty much any such question can be answered there.

Ah thank you for the quick reply there, fellow kaleuns, appreciate it!
I will have the hull integrity turned off, it adds that much more realism to it. Can I dive beyond 180? Can't I? That's exciting!

I will browse through the manuals before asking stupid questions before, thank you for the suggestion!

180 is test depth i believe, but "crush" depth is theoretically much deeper.

personally i have had my VIIC down to 230 meters without death being the result... if the lights start flickering and the CE reports damage you better start heading back up.

i have had a XXI boat to 305 meters

other commanders report deeper

!!!

That's pretty amazing, the depthcharges must have a hard time finding you there!
Besides that, the VIIc is capable of diving deeper than the VIIb isn't it?

The boat imploded shortly after reaching 305 meters.

they were still hitting all around me pretty accuratley as deep as 280 - 290 IIRC.

Well, at least you have more time to manoeuvre away from the DC's before they can explode, it saves abit of time

VIIB: max. depth 220m - crush depth 230-240m
VIIC: max. depth 230m - crush depth 240-250m

IIRC - someone correct me if my memory fails me...
