South African sports are having a good year. Rugby World Cup, cricketers not doing too badly, - pity about our soccer team though.

A South African hasn't won the F1 World Championship since Jody Scheckter in 1979.




Of course no American has won it since Mario Andretti in 1978...and he was born in Italy. That leaves Phil Hill in 1961.:oops: :rotfl:

No Estonian has ever raced an F1 car, but hopefully that will change in the next few years with Asmer.

I went to school with Jody (he was in the same class as me) but I have to say, he was a teeny reckless on the circuit - I personally would not have wanted to be competing on the grid with him. I think his nickname on the circuit was "reckless Scheckter"

Here in Britain we are usually consistently poor :lol:
