I was playing the game the other night, and after shooting an electric torp, I was unable to reload the tube with a steam torp, even though several were left. I tried adding the weapons officer, adding/removing men from the torp room, and checked that the torp tube wasn't damaged. I also tried cycling the tube open and closed, but that didn't seem to be working. Other tubes opened and closed just fine. Any thoughts? I just treated it as if my boat had a glitch in one of its tubes and kept sailing (and racked up 60K worth of merchants!).
On a similar note, is there any cure or calibration for a deck gun that's shooting wild? Often if they take hit, even if repaired, they don't shoot straight, or even reliably off to one side. I can usually compensate, but not always. It was a hell of a lot of fun trying to shoot a trawler with a warped gun in 9 knot winds! Frankly, I'm surprised that I was able to use the gun in that weather, but I didn't complain. I was surprised that 2 out of the 11 merchants that I ran into were armed (Oct. 1940). That was an unpleasant surprise! But they went down any how with a softening-up torp to give my gunnery the advantage. :p
