Pearl Harbor looks intact in Dec. 8, 1941. At least it looks that way sailing out of there. There should still be wrecks in the harbour.:-?

Shots of Pearl Harbor from Dowly's Pearl Harbor Menu 0.1. Hope it shows up OK.

I think what people are after is the post attack ambiance. Smoke in the air, oil, flotsam in the water. There should be wrecked planes at Hickam Field on Ford Island. Salvage rigs in place. Some ships like the light cruiser Raleigh struggling to stay afloat. Most of the battleships sunk at Pearl bottomed level in the shallow harbor and had water up to their main batteries. The true BB wrecks were Arizona (blown up) and Oklahoma (capsized & later sank under tow) and the old target ship Utah (capsized). The remaining six battlehips were eventually raised and repaired within a few months of the attack. All in all the salvage crews did a remarkable job. Even the very heavily damaged destroyers Shaw, Cassin and Downes which look like total write-offs in post-attack pictures were rebuilt and returned to service.

Yes, Torplex. I'm amazed at the engineering feat of the US Navy at that time. Huge cables used to righten ships I saw in photographs simply amazing. Pity it's not in the game. Smoke and debris from the attack as you sail out of Pearl would've been a sight.
