On GWX 2.0, Balz had a 175,000 BRT patrol. If I remember right, he got that tonnage be decimating a northbound Freetown convoy. :arrgh!:

Don't remember the exact tonnage, but it was around 120.000.
Including warships, merchants, fishing boats, planes. Everything sailing or flying under the flag of England or Australia.

my best patrol by far was as follows: (cant recall exact numbers)

I had been on a quiet patrol and had seen absolutely nothing for weeks... on my return voyage with my head hung low in the increadible wasted effort i came across a convoy, in the middle of the convoy was a southampton.

from this convoy i claimed a large tanker and the southampton.

I stalked the convoy for an additional day taking out a large merchant and a medium cargo ship.

weather forced me to break contact.

a few days later as i began to make the turn for the eastbound crossing north of the British isles i received a contact report of a task force and i promptly intercepted it.

scored three hits on a revenge class BB, and one hit on a Nelson class BB. The nelson slowed to a crawl and the rest of the TF sailed on, this allowed me to reload and claim the Nelson.

en route to base down the eastern British coast i encountered (IIRC) a pyro ammunition ship and sank her as well.

there were also a few tramp steamers that i shelled along the East British coast.

all total was

1 Large Tanker
1 southampton class cruiser
1 large merchant
1 meduim cargo ship
1 revenge class BB
1 nelson class BB
1 Pyro ammunition ship
3 tramp steamers or small merchants (IIRC)

total tonnage had to be in the ball park of 105,000 to 110,000 tons

that was with GWX...right prior to the release of GWX2 so quite a while ago, dont think i'll ever top that one!

My best one was probably well over 170 000, about two weeks ago.

But it wasn't a real one, unfortunately. It was my only case of a GWX error.

I spotted a convoy 1943 in AK 54....

... and for lucky me, it had two HMT Aquitania's in it.

One was moving properly, but the other was just sitting dead in the water, half sunk.

So torpedoed them both and two other ships, dove, and continued hunting away.

But about a half hour later my common sense prevailed, and I felt it wouldn't be right to continue on the patrol.
We dove till the pressure crushed U-99 at about 270.
(As a sidenote, I picked U-99 in deference to the Great One, Wayner - but was pleasantly surprised when I connected the dots and realized U-99 was actually Kretschemer's boat as well, the most successful of them all)

I have since not been able to locate the HMT after reloading from the start of that patrol from base.

Here is my best patrol
tonnage is not that impressive but I am quite pleased about getting 2 cruisers. AM38 is Loch Ewe as many of you will know and on the way I picked up a convoy and some lone merchants

A more personal and emotional account of U-93 11th patrol (celebrating christmas in the lion's mouth) will soon be up in my War Journal

edit: unfortunately the neat layout from the SH3 Commander page is lost in translation, hope it's still somewhat intelligable

Can't remember exactly, but over 120,000 tons. I think it was during happy times where I could use the deck gun.

But with GWX installed, I'm happy to reach 50.

Back when I was doing 100% / all manual targeting I sank 8 ships for 100,336 tons.
I've probably done better tonnage wise, but that I did all the targeting myself makes it my best.

I've since turned the targeting duties to my #2. :ping:

I cant remember the tonnage but the best patrol I ever went on was a patrol where I had not seen anything the entire time. I had completed my objective and was on my way back when I saw a huge convoy with one DD. The destroyer came on me and before I could get below periscope depth ramed my con tower. A few minutes later the destroyer sank:arrgh!: hah hah. So I surface dthe boat and went to surface attack stations. I deck guned 13 large merchants carrying a large variety of cargo including tanks and trucks.:arrgh!:
