Most of the docks for the bases in U-boats have problems which create the vibrations because ships have been mislocated with respect to the docks. I know we have the talent here to make the fixes.

I have scoured the bases and looked at the problems.

Singapore, Soerabaja, Penang have mislocated ships. This is the first thing that must be fixed before we fix the mislocation of our ships at the dock.

All we need are the location files for the Docks and Harbor traffic for those locations and the ability to move the harbor ships to the correct locations.

After that is done we need whatever file locates our ship at the dock and bring that up and edit that location as well. I am willing to do this or some of the better guys could do this and post the corrected files for all of us to download.

Assistance please.....

I agree that this problem needs to be sorted and im sure some of the very talanted modders here at subsim will get right to it.

I would give you a hand at fixing this but apart from using the SH4 map editor im completely useless at modding ;)

Always be in port and make a back up of any files altering

Open up mission editor
Open Rnd layer using the FILE top left
Point it to \Campaigns\CampaignGE\CampaignData
And open Jap_HarborTraffic

Back to FILE
Select Merge
DO NOT TICK THE MERGE AS SAVABLE

Point it towards \Campaigns\Campaign and open Campaign_LOC ( shows the ports on the map )

Now you can zoom in and move troubled ship ( s )
Help if you know which ones it is

When done moving ships
Click FILE
Save Rnd layer as

And point it back to the first file you opened
\Campaigns\CampaignGE\CampaignData
Jap_HarborTraffic

BIGBOYWOOLY,

Yes, that helps alot. Now since you know what is going on please explain the following...

What is the difference between the following ?

Normal Mission
rnd
scripted
mapnotes
landunits

They are all .mis files. It would have been nice to use a different extent.

Last question....

It seems that the editor does not have a move command or a way to move objects in the editor once they are placed. Is there such a command ???

In order to move the ships I have to delete them and make sure I have all the information about them and then recreate them at a good location. Is that right ? Is there a better way ?

Ok, now we fix the traffic and that is ok. Now, how do we change the location of the boat we are using at the dock ????

Regards and Thanks

O,, I can fix the port/dock problems but the location of our submarine is still a mystery. What file has the location for the U-boat starting location at the docks. The U-boats starting from Penang are stuck in concrete and that is why vibration. Besides, it's located in the wrong slot for the band playing our Uber song. It is the next one over to the left. This needs to be fixed.

Alright, all the bases have been fixed of all the merchants that were buried in the cement.

In order to completely fix things I need the file for the location of U-boats in the docks. All the dock starts are screwed and band music is in the wrong docks.

I have deduced that Ubi hired a contractor and gave him some info to do this upgrade. He didn't do it so well and no one checked his work...

I hope this is not the tip of the iceberg....
