Map and Aircraft Question

I seen to remember back on SH1 you could write notes at your X's placed on the map. No joy with SH4, is this possible?

Can you see aircraft in the camera? Is there something that I need to do?

Although the manual mentions being able to make text notes, you cannot in the game. You can only place Xs. When close enough, it's possible to see aircraft from all the views. You don't want to be that close.

Too bad we cant write a note on the map, maybe in SH5 if there is one.
I agree subs and aircraft are not very compatible...............but the eye candy is nice.
