Yes it is because you've been spotted. There is a fisherman near the lighthouse. When he spots your periscope he signals the harbour, and all ships immediatly take off before you can arrive.
how come i don't see the ships rush out?

But more seriously...
Stock SHIII has near empty harbours, I think the GWX mega super mod populates harbours with many ships.

What's that one harbor off the west coast of Africa? The name fails me but what I remember from playing stock SH3 was that it was as dead as a ghost town, so I said to hell with it and went steaming back towards my base when all a sudden this DE came out of the middle of nowhere and blew me up :o:nope:
Get GWX and enjoy the harbor 'eye candy'.

I just edit my campaign_SCR files since GWX acts up on my PC. Making Dover a real treasure trove of cargo ships.
All you ever will need is GWX.

If you want to try GWX, click on my sig and follow the installation instructions to the letter.
Just one small variation....use your game disc to uninstall the game and don't forget to delete the SH3 folder in C/MyDocs http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

You probaly have SH3 that is 1.4b version. No need to update.
Just install GWX 2.0 and there you go.
new problem now :damn: lol, sorry being such a noob but i NOW have GWx 2.0 installed and all that, SH3 with GWX 2.0 installation, i click hte icon try to run the game, on the loading screen before you can get to the main menu it states

Sounds like you have a conflict with a previous residual file....could mean a new installation is required :hmm:
i uninstalled and reinstalled SH3 and GWX...still having the same problems.
the problem is that it continues to tell me, page not implemented, and no menu id or something of that agenda...don't really know what to do.

After you uninstall SH3, go to Program Files and throw away the Ubisoft folder. Then go to My Documents and throw away the SH3 folder. Previous careers won't work with GWX anyway.
And get GWX 3.0, not 2. It's old news.
